How much longer are you going to live? | Mission Blog
By Ev Eric
One of the marketing methods used by health and nutrition companies to get you to buy something is the "Scare Tactic", where they try to convince you to buy their product by suggesting that without it, you will die a horrible sudden death within the next two weeks. The company that I represent, Beachbody LLC., is also guilty of using the same tactic in some of their marketing and, most recently, at the end of their newest ad for Shakeology (shown at the end of this post).
There are some facts to consider: yes, eating unhealthily and maintaining a sedentary lifestyle will increase your chances of an early death, but you also have to consider that there are many, many people who live that way to considerable old age.
How Much Longer Are You Going To Live?
So, for me this question takes on a new meaning. When I ask you this question, I am not asking you, "How much longer are you going to be alive?" I am asking, "how much longer are you going to live?" "Live": that's a verb, which implies DOING something, And this is where I like to focus my attention on healthy living. People who eat unhealthily and don't move around very much may live well into their 80s, but I would bet that at least 2 or 3 decades of that will be a very limited existence. Sitting, watching life happen for other people while they can do nothing but let it pass them by.
You can change your future!
I'm not here to scare you; I'm here to give you hope! I'm here to help you achieve a future of LIFE: a life where you engage with life itself! Being healthy has tangible benefits. If you have children, or plan to someday, do you want to be one of those parents at the park saying, "I wish I had that kind of energy," while watching their kids play, or do you want to be the parent who can chase their kids all over the playground? How about chasing your grandkids!
Live a full life! It may take some changes: changes in diet, changes in lifestyle, but if you're ready (and I bet you are if you're reading this), then LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
