Homemade Pizza - Recipe | Mission Blog

Homemade Pizza is the BEST! OK, maybe free pizza is the best, but not usually best for you. My wife makes a double-recipe when she makes pizza and freezes the 2nd dough. Then, for an EASY dinner, she brings out the frozen dough, adds the toppings, and 17 minutes later… PIZZA!
The best part is that you know exactly what’s going into your pizza from crust to cheese. We usually top ours with whatever chopped, frozen veggies we have. Tonight, she cooked up some ground turkey as well.
The kids enjoy putting the toppings on there and even rolling out the dough.
It’s always best to know what’s in your food. Restaurants cram as much butter, sugar, and salt into their food as they can to keep you coming back. You get addicted. This homemade pizza tastes excellent, and whenever we have it, I don’t miss the pizza shop grease, nor do I miss the price tag!
- 1 tsp. active dry yeast.
- 1 cup of water.
- 2 cups Whole wheat flour.
- 1 cup almond flour.
- 2 tsp granulated sugar.
- 1/2 tsp salt.
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil.
Dissolve yeast into the warm water for 5 minutes. Then add 2 cups Whole wheat flour.
I use the Kitchen aid mixer, otherwise you have to knead it with your hands. Instead of regular pepperoni, I use turkey pepperoni. Plus, feta cheese helps to add flavor without having to use a lot of mozzarella.
